Privacy Policy

Inchworm is built to be private by default. We collect as little as we can, we don't sell your data, and you can use the app without giving us your name or email. The one time your information reaches another person is if you choose to connect an accountability buddy — and then only the specific things described below.

Short version: you get an anonymous account on first launch. The tasks you type are sent to an AI service only to break them into steps. Purchases are handled by the app stores. We don't collect health or medical data.

Who we are

What we collect

An anonymous account

When you first open the app we create an anonymous account for you — a random identifier that lets your steps, sessions, and streaks sync to your device. It does not require your name, email, or phone number. If you later choose to create a full account, we collect the email address you provide.

The tasks you enter

To turn a task into one tiny first step, the text you type (or dictate) is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, and used only to generate your breakdown. It is not used to train AI models. Your tasks and their generated steps are stored in your account so you can return to them.

How you use the app

We store the sessions you start, your streak, and basic counts so the app can show you your progress ("Wins"). We do not track you across other apps or websites.

Purchases

If you subscribe to Inchworm Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple or Google and managed through RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status (active or not) — we never see or store your card details.

Notifications

If you turn on gentle nudges, your device provides a push token (via Expo) so we can send the reminders you asked for. You can turn these off anytime in Settings or your device settings.

Sharing with your accountability buddy

The accountability buddy is entirely optional. If you invite someone — or accept an invite — some information is shared with that person so they can cheer you on:

The name you choose to show them when you connect.
A gentle heads-up that you started something. Depending on the sharing level you pick, that can be just "they started something", the fact that it was a repeat start ("momentum"), or the short title of the task you chose to share.
Any cheer or short note your buddy sends you, and any you send them.

You choose the sharing level, and you can leave or disconnect a buddy at any time — which stops all further sharing. You can also report or block a buddy for abusive content. We never share the full text of your tasks or breakdowns, or anything beyond what you chose to share.

What we do not collect

We do not collect health, medical, or diagnosis information. Inchworm is a wellness and productivity tool, not a medical service.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not require your name, email, or contacts to use the core app.

Who processes your data

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the app:

Supabase — secure database and anonymous accounts.
Anthropic — the AI that breaks your task into steps.
RevenueCat, Apple, Google — subscriptions and payments.
Expo — app delivery and push notifications.

Each processes data only to provide their part of the service, under their own privacy terms.

Your choices and controls

Export or delete your data — from Settings in the app, or by emailing us.
Delete your account — from Settings in the app; this removes your tasks, sessions, and streak from our systems.
Turn off nudges — anytime, in Settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (to access, correct, or delete your data, or to object to certain processing). To exercise them, email 3drealitylabs@gmail.com.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account or data, we remove it from our active systems within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records to meet legal obligations.

Children

Inchworm is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with providers that maintain industry-standard safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
